Better documentation on DNS entries required for Domain Mapping
As it is the case with a number of things surrounding domain mapping, there is rarely a right answer to the question of how to properly set DNS entries up. A number of factors play into making a final decision, and after one is made, we still need to present that info in a way that the end customer can understand and follow to add a mapped domain themselves.
There’s a lot that we can do to improve documentation on that front, including:
- Having “whitelabel” tutorials written for the registrars most commonly used, in a way that our customers can simply use them as reference when writing their own tutorials for their end customers.
- …and others
- Go over the differences of recommending your end customers to use A records or CNAME records, detailing the advantages and disadvantages of each approach.
